I was going to write this blog about traveling and the do’s and don’t with kids, but there are so many blogs and posts about that so I’m not going to do that, what I am going to do is tell you a few things that I liked to do when my family and I did a road trip down to Florida from New York!
I packed the essentials including our food for the most part do to not wanting to stop to grab fast food or dine in. that just makes the trip longer! That was the best thing. And honestly my kids are eaters, and they really didn’t want that much food! We did leave in the morning, so I was able to see some of the views since I have never really left the state. We stopped at about 2pm in West Virgina to stretch the kids’ legs and make some sandwiches!
Once we left the rest stop, we drove until I needed a break and to take a nap. I HIGHLY suggest stopping at a rest stop if you get too tired to keep driving. You don’t want to cause an accident, especially with precious cargo in the car. We rested for about an hour or so while it poured. It was so hard to see so make sure you have some good windshield wipers! I also highly recommend tablets or DVD players for the kids to keep them occupied!
So pack your own foods to help save money and bring devices if your able to help keep the kids occupied! Those are the top 2 on my list! Just remember if something is forgotten you can buy things heading wherever you go or wherever you get too.
Questions are always welcomed!
